Trash & Recycle Information
Kingswood Trash Pickup and Recycling is managed through the City of Carmel utilities. Billing is a part of each resident's Water and Sewer billing.
Kingswood Trash and Recycling Pickup is Wednesday. Effective in 2017 Recycling is every week.
Trash and recycle containers must be at curbside by 6 am on collection day.
Our vendor is Republic Services of Indiana (Customer Service phone: 823-6881). Republic-provided containers must be used.
Holidays - If, during any week, a holiday falls on or before a trash or recycling pick up day, Republic will push back pick up one day. Republic observes the following holidays in Hamilton County: New Years, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Click Here to check the holiday service schedule for your area. Trash pick-up exceptions include:
Residential Recycling Collection Guidelines (95 gal containers)
- Packing peanuts, bubble wrap & styrofoam may be accepted at some local mail/shipping UPS stores (UPS on Carmel drive accepts them)
- Batteries: Batteries Plus 1701 E. 116th St. accepts rechargeable batteries (including from dust busters, power tools)
- Lowe's & Home Depot also accepts batteries from rechargeable power tools & hand held vacuums.
- Fluorescent light bulbs: must be recycled as they contain a small amount of mercury (CFL's accepted at Lowe's & Home Depot )
- Hamilton County Household Hazardous Waste Center accepts electronics, tube fluorescents and many other items.
- Whole Foods recycles Brita pitcher filters (in their #5 plastics bin), wine corks & cell phones
- Aveda (in Castleton) accepts plastic caps that are rigid plastic, including pharmaceutical lids (see their website for acceptable caps)
Hazardous Waste
The City of Carmel's Household Hazardous Waste Disposal facility offers Carmel citizens a safe, convenient, environmentally friendly way to get rid of household hazardous waste items such as solvents, pesticides and paint products.
The facility is located north of 136th Street on the east side of the road at:

Monday: Closed
Tuesday: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Wednesday: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Thursday: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Saturday: 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Sunday: Closed
